Question

How to fix the fact that TurboTax, while importing my Schwab 1099-B and 1099-R, included my dividend income from both, doubling the correct amount?

I've been doing this for years, allowing TurboTax to import the forms and do it's thing and trusting the outcome. This year, I had split income between two states, and in the process discovered dividend income had been applied twice - once from each form.  Is it me or TurboTax that's messed up?

Are you saying that you had dividend income reported on a 1099-R?

When you say that you "split" the income between two states, how did you do this? Did you enter the 1099-B twice, once for each state?

Please explain what is on the 1099-B and what is on the 1099-R.
