How to I remove my mother’s name as a dependent? It remains in my State return although I changed my info to ‘no dependents’.

When you "changed" the information, did you completely delete your mother from MY INFO? If you are not claiming her, she should be completely deleted from MY INFO in your federal return.

Yes, I removed her from Federal but was still showing in the State return, for some reason, which was causing an error and preventing me to file State electronically. After multiple, frustrating attempts to fix it, I figured out that you have to completely delete the State return and start all over again. That was the only time my mom’s name came off the State return. That was the clunky part of this Turbo Tax 2024.
