Or address for second stimulus
Best answer by bluedeb

You cannot update your banking information or address for your 2019 return once the return has been accepted & processed by the IRS.

On your 2020 return, you will be asked about the stimulus money.  Enter any amount you have already received (if any) .  Then the program will calculate if you are owed more money (which would include any amount you qualify for the second stimulus money), or it will show you don't qualify.

After the Other Tax Situations section of the 2020 TurboTax program you will be asked about the stimulus payment received or not received in 2020.

After you asked about the stimulus payment & you qualify,  you will get the Recovery Rebate Credit (stimulus) on the 2020 federal tax return, Form 1040 Line 30.

Right now, there is no way to change your information for your stimulus check. The payment will be based on the information from your latest tax return and will go to the bank account or address the IRS has on file for you.

This stimulus payment may also go to the same Turbo Card account you received your refund on.

If your Turbo Card information is invalid or the account has been closed, the bank will reject the deposit and the IRS will mail your payment to the most recent address they have on file. Typically, once the payment is mailed, it will take up to 14 days to receive the payment, standard mailing time.

You can check the status of your stimulus check at the IRS Get My Payment tool.

Your refund does not go through TurboTax. It comes directly from the IRS. If you did not notify the system of any changes in name or banking information, the TurboTax software only submits to the IRS what you've told "it" what it is to be. You will need to contact the IRS directly. The fastest way to do this (I am not sure what State you reside in, but still fastest) is to call and make an appointment with the closest IRS office - you do this online due to covid - and bring all of your information then. They can straighten it out for you much quicker than you spending countless hours on the phone holding only for reaching no one at the IRS.
