Importing your information is a great way to use TurboTax features. Even though PDF forms are not importable into TurboTax, as long as your W-2 has an EIN (Employer Identification Number) with a TurboTax Import Partner and your 1099 brokerage or financial institution is a participating TurboTax import Partner, you can easily import your forms. Please follow the helpful and importing instructions below to import your W-2(s) and 1099(s).

Even if importing pdf's isn't possible, it would be very useful if I could upload an existing photo instead of being forced to using my camera only (e.g., being able to upload a jpg or png screenshot of my digital W-2 pdf). I entered mine manually (thus rendering the snapshot feature useless) since it would have been a bit counterproductive to request digital W-2's from my employer to end up having to find a printer and wasting paper anyway for a TurboTax snapshot–and finding a printer would have taken much more time than typing it in anyway ;). Nice feature for those getting paper W-2s nonetheless. It just seems a bit odd that an electronic, "futuristic" phone app for filing taxes would not be compatible with digital W-2 that have been around for about as long as phone apps. I hope my feedback helps in bettering an already very useful tool.
