HSA reimbursement

I had a medical claim of $150 in 2023 but did not request reimbursement until January 2024.  I entered the $150 under "any employeer and payroll contributions made but withdrew before April 15, 2024."  However, when I do the review, I receive this message:  Form 8889-T: Line 12 Wks, line B should not be greater than the amount of excess employer contributions/excess HSA funding distributions.  How do I fix this?

Go back and delete that entry.  You'll enter this transaction on your 2024 tax return when you receive the 1099-SA showing the withdrawal.

It's not a contribution at all, it's only a withdrawal.  It will be reported on form 1099-SA for the year the withdrawal happened.

Or, did you make a contribution and then immediately withdraw it? That's slightly more complicated, but you still reported it in the wrong place.  Delete the entry you made (change your answer) and then post here with more details if you need to follow up.
