I filed my return already with IRS & State.  For my State Estimated Tax payments, I just noticed that I put down 12/31/25 instead of 12/31/24 which was the date the 4th Quarter Estimated Tax payment to my State.  Do I have to file amended return to correct or State Tax Dept. will be smart enough to know that the 4th Quarter estimate happened in 12/31/24 and not 12/31/25.  The other 3 quarter dates were fine but I neglected to change the year on that last estimated tax payment.  All 4 estimated payments were made n 2024 and the Tax Payment worksheet has all 4 listed; just that 4th Qtr date has the wrong year.

Thanks.

I would look and make sure the payment shows on your state return under State Taxes Paid. If not, you could call your State Dept of Revenue and ask. I would expect you would not need to amend unless it doesn't show on your return.

All 4 estimated payments are all listed; it's just the date of the 4th quarter payment is showing as 12/31/25.  I forgot to edit the year when I was updating the Date.  The total of the Estimates were applied correctly on my State return.  They would be able to match up to the actual Estimates which I made anyway, right?   Thanks for your reply.

I think you are fine, especially since it shows on your return. The state should be able to figure that out.
