Question

I am 21 and I have never filed my taxes before. Will I be in any kind of trouble if I decide to file this year?

I did not have my life together and I did not know how important it was to file taxes so I just did not do it. Now that I know that it is something you have to do I want to get everything fixed.

No, you will not be in any kind of trouble if you decide to file this year. 

 

Depending on how much you earned in other years, you may not have even been required to file. 

 

Filing this year may qualify you for an Economic Impact Payment (Stimulus Payment).
