I am a distributor of essential oils. Under the Health product direct sales info- when it asks if required to send a 1099, is it referring to me or the oil business?

under the "payments and identification" section where it asks for the EIN, paid w-2 employees & required to send a 1099- referring to me or the essential oil business I work for???

The question is in reference to you as the business owner of your distributorship.

The program is verifying if you paid anyone over $600 during 2020 that you would have a requirement to issue a form 1099-NEC to.

When you have an EIN, or an Employer Identification Number if is possible you may have employees or nonemployees that are compensated by your company for services.
