Solved

I am a student and made less than $2700 which was a work study at my college. My parent claims me as her dependent. I got a W-2 form. Do I need to file on my own?

If you had taxes withheld on your wages, reported in box 2 of the W-2, then you should file to get a refund.  If you do file make sure that you indicate on your tax return that you can be claimed as a dependent.

If no taxes were withheld you do not need to file since your income is below the amount for required for filing.
