I am a subcontract I pay a fee it included in my wages box 7 how I deduct my fee that I pay?

You will report the fee that you pay as a business expense on your Schedule C that is reporting your self-employment income.  

 

If the fee does not match any of the expense categories that you see as you go through the Schedule C, then you can claim it as a Miscellaneous Business Expense where you can type your own description and amount paid.  

 

Use the following steps to get started with Schedule C:

  • On the top row of the TurboTax online screen, click on Search (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax locate the search box in the upper right corner)
  • This opens a box where you can type in “schedule c” (be sure to enter exactly as shown here) and click the magnifying glass (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax, click Find)
  • The search results will give you an option to “Jump to schedule c
  • Click on the blue “Jump to schedule c” link
