I am active duty military but I’m not getting to file for free am I doing something wrong?

Probably...

1) .First, you must be enlisted

2) Second you must indicate you were a member of the military in 2019 in the My Info section (where you edit your name...and indicate your E-rank)

3) then, once #2 is set up correctly, you "Edit" your military W-2, and on the page AFTER the main W-2 form, there is a page with a whole long list of checkboxes. The TOP checkbox must be checked that indicates it is a military W-2. (that top checkbox will not show in the list unless #2 is done first)
