Question

I am being told by the Idaho State Tax Commission that I did not pay my taxes..... I paid all of my taxes on this site how is it that they did not receive this payment??

Your proof of payment is the cancelled check, bank account statement or credit card statement showing the state as the payee.

TurboTax does not pay any type of taxes owed, federal or state.

 

In the File section of the program Step 2 where taxes are owed you were given options on how to pay the state taxes.  If your state is one of the very few states which allow a direct debit from a bank account for taxes owed when using tax preparation software, then the bank routing and account numbers you entered would have been sent with the filed state tax return.  The state would have debited your bank account, no one else.

 

Look at the Filing Instructions page for the state tax return to see how you selected to pay the state taxes owed.

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.  

This will take you back to the 2018 online tax return.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen.  Then click on Print Center.  Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return.
