Question

I am entering 1099-B sales of ESPP stock, and some of the sales do not include the cost basis. There is not even a BOX 1e on the form. How do I enter these?

When you enter your 1099-B, enter the reported basis as it is on the 1099-B.

There will be a box to check if the basis reported on your 1099-B is missing or incorrect.

TurboTax will walk you through getting it reported correctly.

For ESPP stock, part or all of your cost is generally reported on your W2 and/or on supplemental information provided by your employer.
