I am filing for my 17 year old who has 2 W-2's. When we are reviewing her state return it shows us a NOL-85? Why would that come up?

It sounds like a box may have been selected in the state interview section to generate this form as it would only be used to carryback or carryforward a net operating loss in Alabama.

First, I recommend reviewing your input in the state interview section to ensure a box was not accidentally checked to generate this form.

1. Select State in the black panel on the left hand side of your screen when logged into TurboTax.
2. This will take you to a screen titled Let's get your state taxes done right.  Click continue on this screen.
3. You will see the following screen titled Status of your state returns.  Select Edit to the right of your state.
4. Proceed through the screens to review each question to ensure nothing was accidentally marked.
