I am married, filing joint taxes, but the software refuses to give us 2 exemptions, as in the past.  Why?

The new tax law that took effect on 1/1/2018 took away the exemptions and increased the standard deductions.

Personal exemptions have been removed from the tax code.  The standard deduction has been increased for all filing status'.
See this TurboTax support FAQ for the tax code changes - <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/4482394-how-will-tax-reform-affect-my-2018-federal-tax-return">https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/4482394-how-will-tax-reform-affect-my-2018-federal-tax-return</a>
