what makes you thing you are filing 2020 if turbotax tells you it is 2021 ??

The current online program is ONLY for the 2021 returns ... do NOT try to use it for the 2020 return.

To complete and file a 2020 tax return using TurboTax you would need to purchase, download and install on a personal computer one of the 2020 desktop editions from this website - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

A 2020 tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed.

There are no penalties for filing a tax return after the due date if the return is being filed for a tax refund.
