Question

I am going to claim my fiance as a dependent. She got stimulus checks this year. Do I combine her stimulus amount with mine? Or would I not be able to do that?

She was not claimed as a depended last year, she did not work this year so I am claiming her this year. How does this work if she got her stimulus checks though?

Did she have any income in 2021?  Unemployment comp, maybe?

Assuming your fiancée qualifies as a dependent after entering her information, go to federal review. If you and your fiancée are the only individuals listed on the return, the program will ask if your household received $2800.  Indicate yes if this is the case. If it asks about the 6419, you will still say yes if you both received $1400 apiece. The amount indicated may be different if you have more dependents other than your fiancée.
