What kind of forms are you filing? (w-2, 1099-misc, etc.)

Did you have any business expenses or anything of that nature?

Last year I worked at an art camp and got a 1099-misc but this year I did not make enough money to get that.

No, I had teacher expenses. That's it. I filed it under educator expenses

Did it tell you that you needed to upgrade to self employed at any point or did it put you in self employed from the beginning?

From the beginning

Did you import your information from last year?

Yes

If you used Self Employed last year for the 1099-Misc, that is why it started you off in self employed. When you import, it automatically puts you into the same product that you used last year. You will have to clear and start over so that you can remove the Self Employed charges
