I am part of the government shutdown. when I do get paid will I be taxed at a higher rate since it is larger than normal amount or will I be taxed at my normal rate...thanks!!

In prior shutdowns the HR departments had the payroll withheld just as if you were getting paid every 2 weeks.

Note however that the first paycheck each year changes due to new tax tables, and also changes in medical premiums.

if they don't do some adjusting you are correct in that some additional taxes would be withheld, however I think they will take care of it.
