I am single tax payer and bought a car I've added the amount and sales tax but didn't get anymore tax back added is this correct?

This is an itemized deduction. To get a tax break you must choose the sales tax deduction instead of the state income tax deduction and the total of all your itemized deductions must be more than the standard deduction.
You appear to be posting from the Free Edition, you cannot enter itemized deductions in the Free Edition. You would have to upgrade to Deluxe.
