I am student that did an internship in New York from September 2016 till August 2018. I was in US with J1 visa. Am I a resident or non-resident alien in this case?

I was preparing my documents to file with TurboTax but said that I was a resident by mistake. If it is not so, how can I change this info on my turbotax profile?

You are a resident for tax purposes if you stay more than 183 days in 2018.  Based on your information, you are a nonresident for 2016 and 2017, if you stay more than 183 days in 2018 (January 1st to August?), you are a resident.

Since you say I am a resident in this case, is it possible for me to use TurboTax services?
