I am supposed to get a return. Instead Turbo Tax attempted to take money from my account. This resulted in my refund being rejected by the IRS. Anyone else??

I think you are getting the two things mixed up.  If you agree to have your turbo tax preparation fees deducted from your federal refund, you also agree that if your federal refund is delayed by the IRS, you would pay your TurboTax fees out of your own bank account.  You owe the TurboTax fees for preparation services even if the IRS delays or blocks your refund for some reason that is outside the control of TurboTax.

Any state tax refund is paid separately from the federal refund, and you can’t deduct turbo tax preparation fees from your state refund. The state and the IRS are separate and each consider your tax return separately.
