Suggest that you read IRS Pub 559 (Survivors, Executors, and Administrators) for a lot of good information about filing the final return and estate return and other requirements.

https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p559.pdf

If it involves an estate and estate tax then I suggest a tax professional that deals with estates.

First of all, the current online product can only be used to prepare a 2019 tax return. To prepare a 2018 return, you must buy, download and install on your computer the 2018 program: https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

A 2018 tax return cannot be efiled. You must print and mail it yourself. use the filing instructions that print with the return for where to mail it and what to include.

Also see this IRS help with many more details: https://www.irs.gov/help/ita/how-do-i-file-a-deceased-persons-tax-return

Just a clarification - a tax return for a deceased non-spouse cannot be e-filed in any event because there is no way to properly sign an e-filed return per IRS instructions.

Name, Address,
and Signature
Write the word “DECEASED,” the decedent's
name, and the date of death across the top of
the tax return. If filing a joint return, write the
name and address of the decedent and the surviving
spouse in the name and address fields. If
a joint return isn't being filed, write the decedent's
name in the name field and the personal
representative's name and address in the address
field.
