Question

I am trying to pay on federal right now. It won't let me put the date 4/15/2019 as the direct debit date. Do i have to go mail it?

The debit withdrawal date will have to be the 16th because banks have a cutoff at 3pm, but the tax return will still be filed on time if you file by the 11:59pm deadline. Even if you put it in the mail today, the postmark date will be tomorrow because the post office is currently closed and won't process the mail until tomorrow.
