Question

I believe I did my 2018 taxes with Turbo Tax. I am requesting a copy of my tax return. However, the messages I am getting from Turbo Tax is that I did not file with you.

You have to access your own account and/or  print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax?  If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

    SAVE YOUR TAX RETURN !

EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records.  That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.

Thank you for your fast reply. I used the account recovery tool and looks like I found 2 accounts under my email. However, I'm still getting the message that I did not file with Turbotax. Not sure what else to do since the IRS isn't really providing it either due to our current situation. Will definitely start saving copies of my taxes moving forward!

If you have filed a tax return for 2018, you should be able to at least request a transcript from the IRS.  Please see the link below for instructions.
