Question

I called my return using a 2021 and a 2022 W-2, will they accept both years at once using only one return or do I need to do them separately??

The forms W2 must be separated and filed on the respective tax return for the years earned.  Your 2022 W2 goes on your 2022 tax return and your 2021 W2 goes on your 2021 tax return.

If you have not filed your 2022 tax return then be sure in the W2 topic to only include the the W2 for tax year 2022.

If you have already filed for 2022  and you included a 2021 form W2 and your return has been accepted, then you need to wait for your return to be processed by the IRS.  That can be indicated by a deposit of any refund due.  The IRS system normally catches W2 errors and will send you a letter with instructions to correct the error.

If your refund gets deposited then you will need to do an amendment to remove the 2021 Form W2 information.

Sometime near the end of February the Amend option will be available in TurboTax for tax year 2022 returns.  You will need to sign in and select that option to complete the amendment.  If you filed a state return you will need to amend that as well.  TurboTax will step you through those processes.

In the meantime,  I assume you did not include the 2021 W2 in your 2021 tax return.  If that is the case you will need to amend your 2021 tax return to add the W2 to that tax return.
