Question

I cannot e file my state return even though I won’t be getting a federal return what do I do so I can still file my state? It says it is because of blank spots on the 1040

If you do not/cannot e-file your federal return, you cannot e-file your state return. You will have to print sign and mail it.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
