Awesome Tax Expert @ToddL99 explains that "TurboTax does not accept foreign telephone numbers in its programs - the reason is that the IRS will not accept or use a foreign telephone number for contacting you about your return. They will, however, accept and use your foreign address."

Todd suggest using the phone number of a relative or friend in the U.S,, or a "dummy number" (800-555-1212). The IRS will identify your entry as a placeholder number - if they have questions, they will mail them to you.
