I cannot transmit my return. Please help

    Is this what you are experiencing, or is it something else?

    Are you using Online TurboTax?  Is the Transmit button not working; i.e., unresponsive?   It's most likely something in the browser that needs to be reset.  

    It may be due to a CAPTCHA not appearing, where one would need to checkmark "I am not a robot."

    NOTE:   Are you using any ad blockers or script blockers?   If so, that may be blocking the CAPTCHA.

    Otherwise, here's how to troubleshoot:
    • First, just simply refresh the browser page and see if that solves it.
    • If not, then log out and clear your browser Internet cache.
    • Close the browser and reopen it.
    • Make sure cookies are allowed/enabled in your browser settings so the CAPTCHA will appear.
    • Log in and try again.
    • If still unsuccessful, do all the above, then this time open a private window/private browsing (aka "incognito mode").
    • Log in with the private window (again making sure cookies are allowed) and try the efile again
    If that doesn't work, see if a different browser (with cookies allowed) will solve it.

    You are posting in an old answered thread, so it won't show up to the whole forum as needing help.   What are you experiencing?  Where is the roadblock?  Any error message?

    Are you using desktop  TurboTax (CD/download), or Online TurboTax (website)?   If Online, which edition--Free edition without PLUS, Free Edition with PLUS, Deluxe, etc.

    I keep getting an error message when I hit transmit stating Turbo tax Premier needs to be updated, which I have done, and still get the message. I have cleared cookies, catch, switch brosers

    I cannot transmit my return. Returned RMD in 2020 will not let me e file

    FAIL _VALITATION. There is an update available for your version of TurboTax. Before you can file electronically, you'll need to get this update.  To do this, go to the Online menu and select Check for Updates.

    How do I find the updates and make the needed changes?

    If you are using the Download/Desktop version, you will need to make sure you have updated your software.  To manually update for Windows, please see the Help Article here.  For Mac, please see this Help Article.
