Question

I claimed my daughter on my taxes. She worked last year but only earned $1600 total. Does she have to file taxes herself?

For 2016, an individual who is single is not required to file a tax return unless they make over $10,350 in taxable income. However, if your daughter made $1,600 and taxes were withheld, she may want to file in order to get the taxes she paid refunded to her.
