I collected unemployment last year and the year before and TurboTax was free last year, why is there a fee this year?

You are able to begin your tax return using TurboTax Free Edition, but if you do not qualify for it or you add on an add-on that requires an upgrade, you will be prompted to upgrade. Please see this link for tax situations covered in TurboTax Free Edition. To review your fees, follow the instructions in this link here. You can follow the instructions in this link here to remove all unwanted add ons. As long as you haven't submitted payment, deducted the TurboTax fee from your refund, or registered, you can erase your return and start from scratch in TurboTax Online.
