Question

I corrected a rejected return last night after 2 prior unsuccessful attempts. I finally figured out the error do I need to worry about an extension?

If you transmitted your corrected return and it's accepted, there's no need to file an extension.

If your return hasn't been accepted yet, don't worry -- there's a five-day grace period to re-submit.

See the TurboTax Help article What if I e-filed on time but my return got rejected after the filing deadline? for more information.  (Note that the tax year 2023 deadline is April 15, 2024.)

If you need to file an extension, see the TurboTax article How do I file an IRS tax extension? for guidance.
