Question

I did not have the minimum income to file taxes

Hi, my income for this year was less than the minimum required ($12,200).

I read if you are married and filed separately the minimum is $5 .

My question is this:

My wife have a status pending for receiving the green card so she can not work and do not have Social Security number. (That means that she is not going to file any tax return.)

Do i still need to file taxes?

(Filing separately means: Each one filing his own Tax Return or even if i file by myself and my wife does not it counts as a married-filing separately?)

Thanks,

Best Regards
