I did not pay for 2015 self employment tax prep. Why am i paying now?

The only way you could have paid for the self-employment tax preparation is if you qualified for the absolutely free Turbotax product. TurboTax does have another free product (FREEDOM Edition) that has free Federal and State returns, no upgrades, no fees, etc. if you meet ONE of the qualifications below, and are willing to start over. It can handle all the usual Federal forms that regular Free Edition cannot.
AGI of $33,000 or less
or active duty military (including Reservists and National Guard) with a military-issued W-2 and a 2016 family AGI of $64,000 or less
or eligible for the Earned Income Credit (EIC).
If you meet one of those, and want to use this product, you will have to clear to start over in a new account at the Freedom website. Select Turbotax Freedom Product to get started after using the instructions below to clear and start over.
