Question

I did not work in 2018. My spouse did and filled in her AGI. We filed jointly in 2018. What should my AGI be for 2018? I worked in 2019.

We paper filed earlier this year our 2018 return, and that has probably not been processed yet.

if you just filed 2018 your 2018 AGI is not tn the IRS database.

It doesn't matter what number you use.

You can try AGI  = zero.

If that doesn't work you won't be able to e-File.

PS. If you filed jointly in 2018 you enter the same AGI number  for both persons.

It must be this way since there is only one AGI number in existence.

If you filed a joint return for 2018 then the AGI is the same for each of you, regardless of whether you worked or not.  But since you filed it late, the 2018 AGI does not matter for you to  e-file 2019, since the AGI has not been put into the system yet.  Try using zero for your AGI.  If zero will not let you e-file 2019, then you have to print, sign and mail 2019.
