Respond to the notice. Either pay the amount or contest it. You may want to seek guidance from a local tax professional.

If you have no documents or records, there's not much chance of successfully challenging the IRS determination. You should probably just pay what they say you owe, unless there is some obvious error in what they say. As tagteam suggested, you might want to consult a local tax professional for advice. But make sure you respond to the IRS notice by the deadline in the notice. Things will only get worse if you don't respond.
