Question

I didn't file with turbotax for 2018, but need my 2017 state transcript which turbotax has. No way to pay for this????

I'm honestly up to here with turbo tax right now and I'm realizing why I stopped using them in 2018. I filed with turbo tax from 2013-2017 and used another service in 2018. Now I need my transcripts for 2017 and there is NO WAY for me to pay and retrieve my 2017 transcripts without upgrading to plus, but I CANT upgrade to plus because of the fact that it wants me to file my 2018 returns with turbotax to activate the plus, but I already did with another company. Seriously how is there not just a way to pay like 20-40 bucks and get a copy of my transcripts.

If you are looking for an actual transcript, you can get one from the IRS.  Go to the following website.

https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

If you need a copy of your tax return that you filed with TurboTax,

How do I get a copy of the 2017 return I filed in TurboTax Online?

To access your 2017 return:

  1. Sign in at TurboTax.com. You must sign in with the exact UserID & password you used to file your 2017 return
  2. Go to Tax Home and scroll to down and select Your tax returns & documents. Here, you'll see the years of taxes you've filed with TurboTax.
    • If you don't see any returns when you sign in, you might be using the wrong user ID. Check to see if you have another account.
  3. Select 2017 and choose Download/print return (PDF) to get a copy or Download .tax file if you need the data file for the TurboTax software.

If access to your 2017 return has expired, you'll get a link with instructions on how to regain access.
