When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS and/or your state received the return.

I had an old account with the same phone number but I can’t remember my password and I’m having problems resetting it can you please help as I don’t have my W-2s they were lost in a disaster at my house

To log into your 2018 account, I would try the I Forgot My User ID or Password, under the main sign in for your account, and see if you can recover the account that way.

If it is still not possible to recover your account, you can make an Account Recovery Request.
