Question

I didn't get my stimulus payment because the IRS says apparently I was claimed as a dependent which is wrong. I submitted it through TurboTax, what can I do?

Look at your 2019 form 1040 tax return and see if the box in the Standard Deduction section in front of "You as a dependent" was left unchecked. If it was unchecked, then someone has apparently claimed you as a dependent on their tax return either by mistake of fraudulently.

If the box was checked mistakenly by you, then you must prepare, print and mail an amended return form 1040X to uncheck the box.

Has your tax return been processed and have you received a refund? If it has not been processed, the IRS would be waiting for it to be processed before setting a stimulus payment date for you.

Thank you for your response.

You mean it it was checked not unchecked correct?

It was not checked and I did receive my return with no problem.

Check your 2018 return too.  The IRS also uses 2018 for the Stimulus Check.
