Question

I didn't receive my W-2 from my employer. I know how much I made last year, am I able to file my tax return without it?

Also, I made less than $7,000. Do I even need to file?

Were you a W-2 employee?  Was Social Security and Medicare withheld from your pay?  Or did you work as an independent contractor with nothing withheld from your paychecks?

Ask your employer for a copy, you can't e-file without the actual W-2.     If your only income was a $7K w-2, you would not have a filing requirement (see that link for details).  However, you could file a return and get back any taxes withheld in Box 2 of your W-2 if you don't have a filing requirement.

How to File a Substitute W-2?  - - you will not be able to e-file using this option.
