I didnt file a 1040 last year; I filed a 1095 C. I cant get past this question to file

Everyone who filed a return filed the form 1040.   The 1095-C was for your health insurance thru your employer and is not a tax form.

 

Now did you mean to say you do not have a 1095-A to report on the 2022 return  because you did not have health insurance thru the ACA Marketplace  in 2022?   If that is so simply skip the 1095-A section.   If you transferred in the 2021 info where you did have a 1095-A to report then delete the unneeded 1095-A shell form that was transferred in and continue.

A 1040 is the tax return form you prepare here to send to the IRS.   If you start entering data in this software you are preparing a Form 1040.   Please look at it so you will know what you are sending to the IRS:

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.
