I didnt file taxes in 2017 because my child was claimed by a stranger ,it was being checked out by my request. Call i file for 2017 today?

if you are attempting to claim to get a refund, then no,  The deadline for filing 2017 tax return was April 15, 2021. 

 

if you owe taxes , then you'll still need to file

 

what do you mean it was being checked out? who was doing that? did you already file and the IRS is checking that out?

Yes, you still need to file a tax return. But as others have said, it's too late to get a refund.  Yo will have to file a paper return.  I suggest you attach a statement explaining while your late.  If the IRS has a case on your case, you may get some leeway.  You may want to contact the IRS office handling your case for advice on how to file.

 

TurboTax software for 2017 is not available.  You'll have to fill out a return manually.
