Question

I divorced in July 2021 and my settlement stipulates that my ex and I will file as married filing separately for the year, but the turbo tax form won't allow me. Help?

A family court judge cannot override the Internal Revenue Code of the Untied States.

If you were no longer legally married as of 12/31/2021 you Cannot file as Married Filing Separately or Married Filing Jointly on a 2021 tax return.  You have to file as Single if you have not remarried.  Or you can file as Head of Household if you are eligible.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for Head of Household - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/family/help/do-i-qualify-for-head-of-household/00/25539

Edit answer for typo...Should read 12/31/2021 and not 12/31/2022
