Question

I do not want to file head of household, how do I change this?

TurboTax automatically selects the Head of  Household (HOH) filing status if you qualify. You must have answered the questions such that you are making yourself HOH. Follow the instructions below and answer the questions again choosing answers that won't make you HOH. 

  • Change your filing status in the Personal Info section of TurboTax. 

To change your filing status in TurboTax Online:

1. Go to "Personal Info" at the top of the page

2. Select "Edit" next to marital status

3. Select the Single or other filing status.
