Question

I don’t have a w-2 but it’s asking me for my employer I’d number . Pls help

If you imported your information from 2020 to start your 2021 return TurboTax copied it forward and it is ready for input.  You just need to delete the entry area and the form if it exists.  To delete the information on TurboTax Online you can follow these steps:

 

  1. Within your return in TurboTax Online search for W-2.
  2. Click the Jump to link in the search results.
  3. Delete the W-2 line with the trash can icon.
  4. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen.
  5. Click on Delete a Form. 
  6. Scroll down to your W-2 and click Delete if it is still there.
