Question

I don't understand what "remove these wages" mean on my state return. It says I need to remove these wages for each state wage line that is a duplicate.

Since you entered your W-2 on the federal portion of your tax return, you do not need to enter those same wages when you prepare your state return. Delete any wages you added from the state interview, TurboTax automatically transfers those for you.

If you have duplicate lines on your W-2 in Box 15-20, make sure the state code is different for each line. Each state should only be listed once. Also, make sure you don't have the same W-2 entered twice. Any of those things could cause that error message.
