I don't want to claim my son as a dependent even though he qualifies. I need to know; how do I not claim him in the turbo tax program?

You are not required to claim your son as a dependent.

If he files a return he will be asked if he can be claimed on someone else's return, not if he is claimed on someone else's return.

To remove him from your return, go to My Info.

From the Personal info summary screen, you can edit, add or delete a dependent.
