I don't want Turbo Tax Deluxe. Why do I have to use this?

I will remove my 401k info in order to file free.  Otherwise I will find a new tax e-file carrier

1) The price for Turbotax depends on the forms you need and the complexity of your return.  If your income is less than $36,000, you can use the IRS FreeFile program, which includes all forms that are normally an upgrade charge in regular Turbotax.  To use the FreeFile version, you must log into the FreeFile site and make a new account, you can't use your regular Turbotax account. (If your browser automatically logs you into the regular Turbotax site, you may need to clear your browser history then try again.)

2) If you remove required information, you will get an IRS letter and have to fix your return anyway, or even get audited.

3) What are you talking about with a 401(k)?  If you are making contributions to a 401(k) at work, that is not reported on your tax return.  A 401(k) is NOT an IRA and you do not list your 401(k) contributions on the IRA section.  If you have a 1099-R because you made withdrawals from an IRA, failing to properly report that will result in additional taxes, penalties, and maybe an audit.
