If you are not married or married and not filing a joint tax return and you did not receive any type of income in 2019 there is no need to file a 2019 tax return, with or without a dependent.. You are not eligible for any type of tax credit based on earned income, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit, the Child Tax Credit, the Other Dependent Tax Credit or the Child and Dependent Care Credit.
