I dont want to pay for deluxe for the state? makes no sence to pay 40 extra for nothing.

If you have not paid for the online edition you are using, have not filed your tax return or registered the Free edition, then you can clear your return and start over with a lower priced edition. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the program screen while working on the 2020 online tax return. Click on Clear & Start Over.

If you do not want to complete a state tax return then do not start the state return after completing the federal return.  After Federal Review click on Review on the left side of the online program screen.  Finish Review and it will take you to the File section.
